Like so many others, I’ve been struggling for weeks to understand the recent economic crisis. I followed the blow-by-blow account, from not a recession to strong fundamentals to worse than the Great Depression. I’ve been reading smart analyses of the problem’s roots on Wall Street, and even all kinds of crazy plans to fix it.

But the whole thing never really clicked for me until I caught a South Park re-run tonight:
